How much can I earn?

Base Pay

Base Pay

Base Pay is calculated based on the estimated customer package, event time, and travel distance. Event time averages between 6.5 to 8.5 hours. You'll always know before each event what you will earn.

Plus Tips

Plus Tips

When you're hosting with excellence, Hipstr customers can tip you for your efforts. If they tip after an event, the tip will be added to your Base Pay. You always keep 100% of any tips you receive.

Future Opportunities

At the moment, Hipstr Hosts are able to deliver our Hipstr Halo package. In time we will launch additional training and opportunities to deliver our additional services like the Hipstr 360 and Hipstr Array which will allow for more earning opportunities for you.

Frequently asked questions

Hipstr is an event service platform focused on delivering photo booth experiences for customers. You simply apply, interview, and get approved to become a host. Then our team will share instructions on how to get onboarded and prepared for events. From there, our team will reach out with available events for you to service.
At the moment, Hipstr is launching our beta program the Hipstr Host program in the following locations:
  • Atlanta, Auston, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Indianapolis, Miami, Nashville, Orlando, and Tampa.
    • Over time the program will launch in the following additional cities:
  • Charleston, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Denver, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, New Haven, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Portland, Raleigh, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington DC.
    • Through our quick and painless application process, Hipstr Hosts can start earning within days. First, submit an inquiry showing interest and we’ll respond back and share the next steps for you to follow. Second, submit your application. Finally have a quick interview with us and then we’ll get back to you if you’re approved.
    To earn, all you need is a smartphone, a car, Hipstr Equipment*, and a love for partying! We'll take care of everything else.
    * For the beta program, Hipstr Equipment will be provided for use free of charge, in the future the equipment may be rented or purchased.
    Nope! You can use any car to transport yourself and the Hipstr equipment to your event, party, and earn. You just need a valid driver's license and insurance.
    No need! Along any step of the process you should hear back from us pretty quickly.
    Aren’t you tired of your boss? As an independent contractor, you have the freedom to earn whenever you want, wherever you want.
    You can party whenever you want, meaning you are in control of how many events you want to service per week or per month -- and you can party practically anywhere. Working as a Hipstr Host is a great alternative to seasonal, temporary, and part-time work.
    Nope! You don't need any prior work experience. But if you are entrprenurially minded and have experience in the hospitality, restaurant, or event service industries, partying with Hipstr is a great way to earn money and will come very easily!
    We welcome former restaurant hosts, servers, bartenders, and DJs. Anyone who loves providing amazing experiences for customers. Drivers from other gig economy or commercial services such as Uber and Lyft who are more personable and people-oriented also find it’s a more exciting and effective way to earn by partying rather than spending hours behind the wheel.
    Hipstr Hosts come from all backgrounds and industries. What they all share is they can’t help but be the life of the party.
    What makes being a Hipstr Host exciting, is no two events are exactly the same. You may service anything from intimate birthday parties to grandiose weddings and corporate holiday events. That said, the process each time is the same. Once you receive an event opportunity, you'll see where it is and what you'll make, and can choose to accept or reject it. Once you accept, there are generally four steps, all of which are clearly outlined via email from the Hipstr Team:
  • Pick up the Equipment and Drive to the Venue
  • Setup the Equipment
  • Party Like a Rockstar
